Introduction to Style Canoeing Instructor Trainer

This process provides national certification in the instruction and administration of the Paddle Canada Introduction to Style Canoeing Instructor course.

Mandate of the Introduction to Style Canoeing Instructor Trainer

The Introduction to Style Canoeing Instructor Trainer is certified to:

  • conduct Paddle Canada Style Canoeing instructor courses up to Introduction to Style Canoeing and to certify instructors at that level, and
  • assist on Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor courses.

Prerequisites

All prerequisites must be completed before the development process begins.

Age

At least 18 years of age.

Membership

Current Paddle Canada membership and Provincial/Territorial membership (where required).

Skills Certification

Advanced Style Canoeing Skills.

Instructor Certification

Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor.

Instructor Trainer Certification

None.

Teaching Experience

Taught a minimum of two Introduction to Style Canoeing skills courses with at least three participants within the last four years.

Online Training

Completion of the Paddle Canada Instructor Trainer Online Training module.

Certification Awarded

Paddle Canada Introduction to Style Canoeing Instructor Trainer.

Minimum Staff and Certification

One Paddle Canada Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor Trainer.

Course Location

Location must match those outlined in the Introduction to Style Canoeing Skills course syllabus.

Environmental Conditions

Conditions must match those outlined in the Introduction skills course syllabus.
