Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor Trainer
This process provides national certification in the instruction and administration of the Paddle Canada Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor course.
Mandate of the Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor Trainer
The Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor Trainer is certified to:
- conduct Paddle Canada Style Canoeing instructor courses up to Intermediate Style Canoeing and to certify instructors at those levels
- mentor and assess Paddle Canada Introduction Instructor Trainer Candidates and certify instructor trainers at those levels, and
- assist on Advanced Style Canoeing Instructor courses.
Prerequisites
All prerequisites must be completed before the development process begins.
Age
At least 18 years of age.
Membership
Current Paddle Canada membership and Provincial/Territorial membership (where required).
Skills Certification
Advanced Style Canoeing Skills.
Instructor Certification
Advanced Style Canoeing Instructor.
Instructor Trainer Certification
Introduction to Style Canoeing Instructor Trainer.
Teaching Experience
Taught a minimum of two Style Canoeing skills courses, one of which at the intermediate level, with at least three participants within the last four years.
Online Training
Completion of the Paddle Canada Instructor Trainer Online Training module.
Certification Awarded
Paddle Canada Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor Trainer
Minimum Staff and Certification
One Paddle Canada Advanced Style Canoeing Instructor Trainer
Course Location
