Lake Canoe Introduction Tandem/Solo Instructor Trainer
This mentorship process provides national certification in the instruction and administration of the Lake Canoe Introduction Tandem/Solo Instructor Trainer course.
Mandate of the Lake Canoe Introduction Tandem/Solo Instructor Trainer
The Lake Canoe Introduction Tandem/Solo Instructor Trainer is certified to:
- conduct Paddle Canada Lake Tandem canoe instructor courses up to the Introduction Lake Canoe Tandem and to certify paddlers at that level
- mentor and assess Paddle Canada Waterfront and Basic Instructor Trainer Candidates and certify instructor trainers at those levels, and
- assist on Lake Canoe Intermediate Instructor courses.
Prerequisites
Age
At least 18 years of age.
Membership
Current Paddle Canada membership and if applicable the Provincial/Territorial membership.
Skills Certification
Lake Canoe Advanced Tandem or Solo Skills
Instructor Certification
Lake Canoe Intermediate Tandem or Solo Lake Instructor
Teaching Experience
Taught at least one Lake Canoe Introduction Tandem or Solo Skills course and at least one Lake Canoe Intermediate Tandem or Solo Skills course. Both courses must have taken place in the past four years.
Completion of the Paddle Canada Instructor Trainer Online Training module.
Minimum Staff and Certification
One Lake Canoe Advanced Tandem or Solo Instructor Trainer
Certification Awarded
Lake Canoe Introduction Tandem or Solo Instructor Trainer
Environmental Conditions
Conditions must match those outlined in the Intermediate Lake skills course syllabus.
